Introduction

Getting the Ignition client up and running on a macOS machine requires downloading the native client launcher and ensuring its pointed to the correct Ignition Gateway. If you have any questions along the way, please contact support@tanklogix.com.

1. Download

Please click here to download the Ignition Native Client Launcher setup. Once the file has finished downloading, double click to mount the installer.

2. Install

You should see this screen when the installer opens. Click and drag the “Client Launcher” icon to your desktop. Then double click it to open it. You’ll may see a warning message that looks like this:

Newer versions of macOS require permission to open 3rd party applications. Click ok, then open “System Preferences” on your mac. Then click “Security & Privacy”

Make sure the “General” tab is selected. You should then see a prompt to allow the Client Launcher to open. Click “Open Anyway”

Another warning window may pop up. If it does, click “Open”

3. Point the launcher to the correct gateway

Once your client launcher is open your screen will reflect one of two options:

Gateway URL Set

If the underlined url is not client.tanklogix.com/main, click “CHANGE”. If it is already client.tanklogix.com/main, skip to “Launch the client!”

Gateway URL N/A

If the url or status shows N/A, follow the steps listed below

  1. Select “Manually Input Gateway” if not already selected
  2. Type client.tanklogix.com in the field
  3. Check “Add to Favorites”
  4. Click “Continue” at the bottom of the window

4. Launch the client!

Now that we’re sure the launcher is pointed at the correct gateway, leave “Create desktop icon” and “Use bundled JRE” checked and select the “Launch” button next to the “Client” project.

You should see the login screen, enter your username and password and you should see the client come up.

Once you’ve launched it the first time, you should have a Desktop Shortcut that you can use going forward. You can eject the white “Client Launcher” icon from your desktop.
